Abstract:This talk introduces the basic formulation of optimal transport, from Monge’s original problem to the Kantorovich framework, and discusses its connection with convex analysis and Monge–Ampère type equations. The main focus is on the development of regularity theory for optimal transport maps, with brief attention to partial optimal transport, free boundaries, and possible extensions to general cost functions.
