Phan Thanh Nam现为德国慕尼黑大学教授。主要从事偏微分方程分析、数学物理、变分理论等领域的理论研究,特别是在多体量子力学等领域做出过具有国际影响力的系列研究成果,在Invent. Math.CPAMJEMS等国际顶尖数学期刊上发表论文60余篇,现为Mathematische Zeitschrift国际数学杂志编委。

Abstract:In this talk, I will consider the infinite ground states of Bose gases, defined as minimizers of the Gross-Pitaevskii energy functional under local perturbations. This leads to the nonlinear Gross-Pitaevskii equation at positive density, namely the solutions do not vanish at infinity. I will discuss several rigorous results and open questions regarding the phase transition from low to high density, where the constant solution ceases to be a ground state. This is joint work with Mathieu Lewin.
