Abstract:In this talk, we will first briefly introduce the background of shallow water wave models such as the celebrated Camassa-Holm equation and some related equations with high order nonlinearity. Subsequently, the Cauchy problem for a two-component cubic Camassa-Holm system with peakons will be discussed. More precisely, we will establish its local well-posedness, derive the precise blow up criterion of strong solutions to the system, and exploit some useful conservation laws. Then with these conservation laws in hand, some blow-up strong solutions will be constructed. Finally, some further problems will be proposed as well.
