Abstract:In this talk we will present an explicit formula for the class number of any CM torus. Our motivation comes from counting CM abelian varieties and numbers of connected components of unitary Shimura varieties. We will discuss a potential application to some polarized abelian varieties over finite fields. This is joint work with Jia-Wei Guo and Nai-Heng Sheu.
