Existence and Large-time Behavior of Strong Solutions to the Compressible Navier-Stokes System with Density-dependent Viscosities in 3D Bounded Domains

Abstract:This speech is devoted to studying the motion of compressible barotropic Navier-Stokes flows subject to large external potential forces in a three-dimensional bounded domain, where both shear and bulk viscosities are powers of density. By defining the suitable energy functionals and effective viscous flux, it is proved that the problem has a unique global strong solution under the slip boundary conditions, provided the lower bound of initial density is sufficiently large. Additionally, the large-time behavior of the solution is established which shows that the solution converges to its steady state in $L^p$-spaces as a consequence of the time-independent estimates. This is a joint work with Zhenhua Guo and Lei Xu.
