Abstract:Design of experiments is the most efficient used technique in scientific and industrial areas in order to investigate the relationship between inputs affecting an experiment and its responses. How do experimenters conduct their experiments so as to lessen the number of trials (runs) while still achieving effective information about the beahavior of the process or the system under the experimentation? The selection of an optimal design for an experiment is the significant problem experimenters may face. Maximin distance designs, supersaturated designs, minimum aberration designs, uninform designs, minimum moment designs and orthogonal arrays are arguably the most exceedingly used designs for many real-life experiments. This talk gives discussions on some interesting open problems in the construction of optimal experimental designs.
