Abstract:Weyl algebras and their localizations play an important role in the structure theory and representation theory of Lie algebras. In this talk, we review applications of Weyl algebras in Whittaker modules. In particular, we can show that each non-singular block of Whittaker category over the Euclidean Lie algebra g_3 is equivalent to the category of modules over the center of U(g_3). For g_4, we also classify simple Whittaker modules using Weyl modules.
